A&E Supply Co. is a cafe, butcher shop, restaurant and bar located in Gowanus, Brooklyn. We slowly opened the different facets of the business in stages starting in late 2016. Our goal was to open a warm and inviting space that would not only serve quality food and drink to our neighborhood throughout the day, but also support our local community by sourcing our ingredients locally whenever possible.  

Cafe:
We’re open daily proudly serving locally roasted, single origin coffee from Brooklyn Roasting Company in DUMBO and house-made pastries. The coffee beans are sourced responsibly as BRC favors certified coffees (Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, Organic).

Butcher Shop & Cheese Counter:
Our butcher shop is honored to be working with thoughtful farmers that share our beliefs and desires for a better food system. All of our beef is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, from Hardwick Beef, pork is pasture raised and acorn-fed from Walden Hill in CT and our chickens are free range sourced from local farms. All of our meat is free of hormones, antibiotics, or other medications and slaughtered humanely. Our “nose-to-tail” philosophy can occasionally cause us to sell out of the more popular cuts, but we’re always happy to recommend a delicious substitute. We proudly make all of our deli meats, charcuterie, and sausages in house and you can find them in our made-to-order sandwiches everyday for take-out & delivery, in the cafe.

Our cheese case is dedicated to highlighting some of the tastiest farmstead cheeses New York has to offer. You can purchase some in our retail area or enjoy a cheese plate in the restaurant with our house-made accoutrements.

Restaurant (Coming Soon):
A&E is a seasonal, casual American, small plate restaurant inspired by a philosophy of knowing where your food comes from with local and sustainable farms and producers in mind. We showcase the best of what the region, and our butcher shop, have to offer through our take on familiar dishes in a simple and approachable way. The restaurant will be open Tuesday - Sunday for dinner and weekend for brunch.

The bar will serve craft cocktails, NYC beers, and an affordable, boutique wine list with a focus on small producers.
